In this section, we'll show you how to draw the above cartoon stuffed lion. You can draw this cartoon stuffed lion freehand while looking at your computer monitor or print out this page to get a closer look at each step.
Follow the red lines in each illustration to learn exactly what to draw in that step. The lines drawn in previous steps are shown in gray. Here, we'll show you an illustration of each step and then give you a description of how to draw it.
Step 1: Begin with two egg-shaped figures for the head and snout. Add a large U-shape on its side and another large U-shape that is almost upside down. These will outline the body and rear.
Step 2: Use a J-shape, triangle, and long curved lines for the snout, jaw, nose, and bottom of the mane. Draw ovals and a curved line for the legs. Form the tail as a U-shaped tube with one open end.
Step 3: Add a long line to the snout. Form the eye on your right with one oval. Place it in a larger partial oval that has a curved line attached to each end. Use upside-down J-shapes and U-shapes for the other eye and bridge of the snout.
Divide a U-shape with a curved line for the tongue. Attach a U-shape to the tongue for a front paw. Use curved lines for the other paws. Draw more curved lines for the back and seam lines.
Detail the mane with a curved line and curved V-shapes (most connected). Draw an oval for the tuft at the tail’s end. Bandage the tail with a curved rectangle.
Draw thin ovals for stitches all over the body. Sketch two patches using partial rectangles with many short lines along the edges. Connect long V-shapes at the end of the tail. Complete the tail’s bandage with two curved V-shapes and three curved lines.
Add four short curved lines along the tail. Put three ovals and a rounded triangle on the bottom of the front paw.
Your lazy lion looks like he's ready for some serious lounging -- good work. The next cartoon character on our list also loves to lounge, giving new meaning to the word "carefree."
